Did you reprogram the NEC BSI? Need more information on what you did.

    hi guys
its got 2 plugs on the back

this is how i did it..

    clocks n bsi out
    did clocks
shorted 2 x xtals on teh back of dash, cleaned and clipped the eeprom, this gave a good reading and showed correct milage. so verified as u do then saved. Then programmed the new milage in there.

went onto the BSI which was not giving me a good reading at all so i was thinking it was my wire up
so tried a few diff wire ups and tried teh wire up also from teh enigma machine.
enimga wouldnt give a reading at all.
on the dashfixer i got a reading but it was showing 0000000 miles and asking me to put new miles in.
i went ahead as sometimes i usually get 000000 miles and its ok to go ahead.

the data set in the BSI must be ok as the car starts n runs fine.
my mate at citroen put it on the diagnostics machine and it showed loads of comms failures between the modules.
the head tech guy there said teh clocks may b corrupt.
when i indicate the lights outside flash as normal
but i get nothign on the dashboard telling me they are flashing.
    milage now shows -------

also when i re-read the clocks eeprom in it was showing my new milaged id programmed into it.

thnaks for your help n time guys

hi, here is a data set taken with DP3 you may have to byte swop before use.

Hi, sometimes different machines save the data in different formats and I think this is the case with DP3 & DF1, try it first it may be ok, it was just to let you know in case it does not work. If it doesn't work just post and I try and swop it for you.

    i found a donor car
got all 3 units from it
    the clocks
    BSI
    and ECU

ive put the clocks in and nothign is beeping at me anymore and the clocks show the time and date.
    still tho the milage is showing as - - - - - -

    any ideas ?
ive not tried the BSI in ther eas i know this has the immob codes in there so the car wont start.

    thanks

It has to be the BSI, clusters on these french cars can be swopped easily without adaption and the car will not complain. It will however take the higher mileage whether it be the from the BSI or cluster.

You state that you used Dashfixer to program the NEC micro, and then when you read it you got zeroes. This is where you went wrong as the Dashfixer always shows the true Km on the display upon a successful read.

Upon a successful read, verification of the data being good is essential for NEC micro programming. I would guess data within the BSI is now corrupted, however the addresses where the Immo data lies appears to be intact so you have been lucky, mind you it is only 4 bytes for the immo code anyway.

The only way around this would be to re-read the data from the NEC micro in the BSI, look at the Hex and isolate the immo code, make a note of it and its address. Get a good dump from another NEC micro BSI and manually write the immo code into the new dump. Re-write the dump back to the NEC micro as a full write. Re-adjust the mileage again before you disconnect Dashfixer or Enigma from the NEC micro.
