Default USB loader GX DSI exception!

I have been using usb loader gx for a while now. I'm on 4.0E and I've installed homebrew channel and been using it for ages no problems. I installed coverfloader at first but then changed to using USB loader GX.

I've not had any problems with when loading games from a 16gig usb stick but now i've changed to a usb hd (320gig sata seagate barracuda in caddy) I get dsi exception has occured. Then it says reloading 5 secs, reloading and nothing happens. It seems to have happened after I added 32 games to the disk and added the covers. This also happens occasionally in coverfloader. I have managed to play games with the disk no problems and other times they will lock up mid game. For example naruto fighting game locked up and crashed 2x now in game. Super mario galaxy has locked up once in game as well.

The disk is formatted to WBFS.

Any help much appreciated since its becoming unusable. Thanks

    I have had this problem.

The only thing I can think of is the External drive is going into sleep mode and needs waking up. As far as I know there is no way to stop this.

It seems to happen randomly though its so strange.

Guess there is no sleep mode for the usb stick but there is for the drive. So annoying it needs to poll the drive continuously to keep it alive. Thanks for the heads up if there is a work around then I'll report back. Guess it needs to be updated!

    edit:
There are reports that if you have a half downloaded cover it will crash trying to load an invalid image file, delete all your covers and start again. Some other people report having to remove the sd card and put it back in again. The supposed hard disk sleeping issue says its been resolved. I'll check for a dodgy cover tonight and see what happens.

hmm, although i'm using a seagate disk its in a 3rd party caddy from ebuyer the cheapest one they had so I wonder what features I'll be able to use lol. Can't hurt to have a look around and try and find a way to disable power saving. Its next to impossible to find anything for this enclosure even on the official site.

The make of the caddy is : Sumvision 3.5" USB2.0 & eSATA Black Hard Drive Enclosure
The make of the hd is : Seagate Barracuda 320gig sata
