    Default Laptop Display Broken

Have a laptop with a broken display, I need to get some files off the machine.
    It will boot etc.
None of the files i need are shared across a network, anyone know of a piece of software which will access the machine over a network so I can just drag the files off the machine, or a method to to just copy data from the machine on mass?

    Cheers

Hasn't it got an external port for a monitor mate? Most have one sort or another.

admin access from another pc to \\computername\c$ the problem is you usually need some sort of client software on the other pc to start anything normally but unless you deleted the default hidden shares you should be ok.

or you could pull the drive out and connect it to a desktop and copy the files off no problem.

Im unaware of any software u can use to remotely access it without first setting up permissions on the machine with the broken display. If you want theese files badly then i guess your going to have to remove drive and access it from another computer.

USB to IDE/SATA lead is quite useful for this sort of thing

    You can install VNC remotely.
Not done it in a few years, but if you know the admin user name and password you should be fine.

The C$ share trick should work, as it a default share.
