Is it possible to upgrade psp from m33 to Gen

hi im currently on

m33-3 5.00 (but dark alexs isnt releseing any more updates and cant play most new games because of it)

what i want to do is switch to a new firmwear so i can play the latast games e.g shinmegami tensei persona

they say that i need 5.50 Gen-B to play the new games

If I recall mate, I upgraded to 5.00 M33-6, then followed the info on this site:

Note the warnings though:

lol ive done it now not sure what psp i have tho it was a jap one when they first come out concidering ive had it since they came out ive defo had my moneys worth feel free to lock or delete this post thanks

Just a quick one,
I had to upgrade to Gen-D3 to get FIFA World Cup South Africa to work on my old phat psp.
