Using microphone's on USB Loader GX?

Did my neighbours Wii a few months ago following the softmod guide from WiiHacks.com here.

All games play fine from the HDD, but the microphone's don't work in Boogie Superstar, etc.

A quick Google tells me I need to update some files, but as a relative noob to this, I don't want to break anything, so an idiot's guide would be lovely please!

Download & unzip syscheck then put it in your 'apps' folder and run from HBC
it will create a .csv file on the sd card.
Copy and paste the results then we can see what needs updating.

you can change the .csv to .txt to make it easier to copy & paste

I know Boogie use an "alt dol" a option in the menu, not sure about superstar.
But the list renke_uk asked for should be able to spot missing system files (IOS)

For the record you can use more than one mike in you have more and a USB hub

Hi Broona,

IOS202,222 &223 could do with updating to at least V4 (selecting correct merging)
IOS249 could do with updating to at least v17
IOS70 isn't showing as being patched - Do you have Priiloader installed?

What USB Loader you using as a good USB Loader makes quite a difference and what cIOS to load them 222,223 or 249

Anyone spot anything else?

Run cios38r17 installer from HBC (all default options then select wad install)
Run cios 222 installer From HBC (selecting 249 to load - 202,222,223 merge as required)
Dop-Mii to patch ios70
Priiloader if BootMii not as Boot2

Not got Priiloader installed, is that critical?

Using a fairly recent version of USB Loader GX, but going to install the latest version of that too.

I'll update the files you've recommended and let you know if it helps, many thanks.

I Agree, CFG USB Loader is by far the most compatable of them all

Priiloader is your brick protection(Block disc & online updates, etc) if you haven't got Bootmii as Boot2 and a nand backup, just make sure to patch ios70 first then install priiloader.

I'm sure I had this problem and used CiOS 249 V19 with iso 37 as base and this solved it as also had problems with ising guitar controllers sure Hermes works as well think it puts CiOS 222 with shared base of ios 37. using USB Loader GX

Tried updating both mine and his Wii following your recommendations, with mixed results!

On mine, everything seems to have installed and worked, and CFG USB Loader works perfectly (installed as a wad to give me a channel for ease), however, syscheck freezes at "Testing IOS vulnerabilities, please wait", so I can't generate a csv file.

On my mates, CFG USB Loader won't start up, just reboots me back into the Wii system menu every time!

Did you install CFG USB as Channel or Chaannel Forwarder?
Are you aware that you can set up CFG USB Loader For FAT32 or WBFS
Depends on how you set them up and what cIOS you want to use to load.
How have you set yours up?

A Nand backup is good insurance, it's just priiloader will block accidental disc & online updates.

How have you set yours up?

I Googled 'Configurable Usb Loader Channel' and installed the first WAD file I found, probably not the safest way to do it, lol! It's installed as a channel, and I've updated to the latest beta version from within the software.

My drives formatted to WBFS, as is my mates.

I followed the Wii Hacks guide, which stated :-

-ios202, for usb - using ios36
-ios222, for uloader - using ios36
-ios223 mainly for GH5 - using ios36 merged with 37

Edit :- Just realised that the 'CIOS38 R17 Installer' in the RAR file you uploaded was the 249 update, couldn't find an installer as you instructed, so I installed it through WAD Manager, take it that didn't update it correctly?

It's very easy to semi-brick your wii using wads from unsure sources - but i'm sure you know that, hence your Nand backup & Bootmii as boot2

I did start out with a WBFS formatted drive but moved to FAT32 when that option came available in CFG USB Loader. It just makes it alot easier to see whats on the drive when you connect it to a PC & you have drag and drop between drives.
But if you have alot of games on your WBFS drive then there's no point at this time.

As for Hermes cIOS's the merges vary depending on what games you play and compatability issues.
The latest reccomendations are

IOS202 - install IOS60 as a base (WiiMC recommends IOS57)
IOS222 - install IOS38 as a base
IOS223 - install IOS37 or 38 as a base

The latest versions of the cIOS's (Custom IOS's) are:-
Waninkoko's cIOSX Revision 19
Hermes cIOS installerV5

Both require alittle understanding and setting up cIOSX more so.
CFG USB Loader can run under HermesV5 no problem and WiiMC runs a treat.

cIOS38r17 should be in your 'apps' folder with 'IOS38-64-v3867.wad' on the root of the SD card and run from HBC.

As for the paths update 249 to R17 and if it still does the same (can't say where the channel wad is pointing) put your SD in his and try that.

Updated both our Wii's, mine's working perfectly with both CFG USB Loader and USB Loader GX, but unfortunately Syscheck still hangs, very strange, but not to worry.

Just waiting for him to get back to me as to whether or not the mic problems are resolved, many thanks for the help mate.
