wii disks not spinning at all

hi guys

got a wii here with wiikey 1 installed, all was working fine but now if i put a disk in it doesn't spin at all. Tried with originals and backups

the wii attempts to read the disk, clicks a few times and get the error message on screen about cant read disk.

ive opened the wii to confirm, chip looks like untouched.

could it be laser issue? or is there a separate motor that spins the disk?

If you have any small people in your house, I found a 10p piece inserted into the disc slot fucks the mechanism up nicely.

Biggy if you look at the drive mech at the front on top there is a silver strip in the middle of this is a sensor to detect if there is a disc in it,also there is a seperate drive spin motor have seen theese on ebay,but as cassy says most likely there is a foreign object jammed somewhere in the drive it can be dismantled the top silver part come's off and take a good look at the indides last one i did i found a big sticky pad...lol

hehe, ive opened the dvd drive metal cage thing aswell, nothing in there.

ive just desoldered the wiikey and same issue so i know its not the chip

what else do i need to look at? Laser unit?

managed to fix it guys

it was the front 2 gate things that stop you pushing in another disk, they were bent towards the disk so wouldn't spin!

rebent them back and now all is working!

was going to suggest that but normally you can hear that spinning and rubbing lol.had one of them before thats what happens when ppl try putting 2 discs in at once lol
