1&1 are celebrating 10 years and are offering one year of hosting for just £10 across all packages.
24 month contract though but this is still a great offer.

I wouldn't touch 1&1 with a large stick never mind sign up for 24 months with them! Big no no from me.
have to agree with dj overdose, I've used them for the last 6 years. I think they are really good. Recently purchased a VPS with them as well and never had a problem. This is a good deal because you get the first year free and then pay for the second year (2 years for price of 1 and their rates are competitive)
Well I work in the hosting industry and know you tend to get what you pay for. A company I do a major contract for is consistently getting customers from the likes of 1and1 and the reason is when things work well, they are fine. When things go wrong you'll be stuck for endless hours playing a blame game.
Adding into this most of their shared / reseller / vps based solutions are cheap because of the amount of overselling going on and their dedicated servers use the cheapest of the cheap hardware it doesn't paint a great picture.
This is simply a warning that signing up to any hosting company for 2 years is a risk that needs to be carefully considered.
Freddy,
I've seen their hardware first hand etc. but I understand what you mean about major companies having dissatisfied customers. etc.
Ive been with 1&1 for about a year now. Never needed to speak to their tech yet. But their prices are decent compared to Easyspace.
I was with Easyspace for several years but their pricing became a bit silly (domain renewals, spam filtering).
Infact it was the amount of spam coming through that made me leave.
Have not regretted joining 1&1 yet.
