Playing downloaded VC games on a Softmodded Wii

Hello All

Firstly, sorry if this has been answered before, but I could not find it in Search.

I have downloaded some nice classic VC games like Starblade, Starforce, Space Harrier etc.

How do I go about playing these games? Do they have to be installed? I am currently running disc based games from my USB drive using USB Loader.

Now Then Twincharge,
These games come a wad files and are installed using wad manager
However if you have to many of these games installed it will use all you memory,
the other way to play them, if you have alot of wii ware & vc games is with apps like 'sneek' & 'triiforce' - both require some setting up - I have used triiforce successfully before.

Some games may require certain files updating - but come to that if you have any hassles.
Make sure the wad files are from a trusted or well known source

I'm using a chipped wii and I can install the games to the dash as normal and then move to the SD card (to save system memory), cant you do that with a softmodded machine too Renke?

You can play them from the SD card in 4.1 and above, but that requires some IOS patching.

Does anyone know if there still issues when playing VC games using the component cable?

You know that's something i've never tried - Cos i moved to triiforce when my wii memory started to get low.
I've heard of people playin' them off SD cards but didn't know that you copy to SD from the Wii - Cheers

Can't you just bin them off and play emulated versions of the roms?

there are emulators yeah, but I prefer to just have a handful of grade A games on my channels page. the info in this thread applies to wiiware too, which is well worth looking into as there are some great titles out there.
