    Default Samsung F86 LCD - Major bleeding/ghosting

We've had this Samsung over 2 years now LE40F86BD. About 6 months ago we started getting the common clicking sound and take an age to come on. Then we'd have to wait for the LCD to "warm" up for the picture to appear fine. This gradually got worse and worse, taking longer and longer for it to come on, then even long for the picture to appear fine due to major ghosting, blurring etc.

Now the last couple of days the motion blur/ghosting and colour bleeding has been on all the time. Previously we'd wait about 20 minutes for the picture to appear ok, but now its so dark its unwatchable.

I've replaced the capacitors today which is a common problem for the clicking sound and taking an age to power up, i thought this may solve the colour issue but it's still the same, although the clicking has now fixed.

Any idea's or is the panel fucked?

external? you mean bluray, dvd etc? Its the same on every input. Even when changing inputs from HDMI 1 to VGA to HDMI 2 to TV etc its still bleeding/ghosting

if the system is outputting to other displays with the same fault it sounds like a graphics card issue or a issue with the driver.

So would suggest going to the Samsung support site downloading the graphics driver for your system

It's a TV that i'm talking about, not a computer system...unless you mean differently? There's no firmware at all for the TV on the samsung website. I've read only Samsung can update the firmware but they don't want to know if it's over the 12 month warranty period

Bump. Any more help on this?

For a couple of days I had the ghosting and darkness etc on all the time. But a couple days ago it's gone back to how it was. Ghosting for about 20 - 30 minutes and then a perfect picture. It happens on every input/channel even when changing from one to another.

Right since yesterday it's gone back to having the ghosting and distorted and dark image all the time. The TV has been on for a few hours and it's still the same. Anyone shed any light on it?

I've just put a couple of vids on youtube, it doesn't really show it clearly. But the picture is really dark in the flesh. The ghosting in the video can be particularly noticed when the Sky info bar goes off, towards the left.Or when I have the Sky Guide up:

I've tried using an hair dryer for the last hour or so, over all boards, but the picture still remains the same
