Gyan slammed the ball off the bar and over after Luis Suarez was sent off for handling Dominic Adiyiah's header on the line.
Sebastian Abreu slotted the decisive penalty in the shootout after John Mensah and Adiyiah had missed for Ghana and Maxi Pereira had missed for Uruguay.

If you haven't noticed, Uruguay were the team I drew in the sweepstake and the team I've been following since that shambles of an England team were sent packing.

I will be feeling a double kick in the nuts if we lose to Holland. One because I would have been so close to at least making my money back and two because Madfox drew Holland. A 6 year DF veteran with 16 posts...

Man how can I calm down. All credit to Uruguay up until that point, but that was just disgusting. He fucking volleyball punted it of the line ffs. Yeah I know Gyan should have scored from the spot on that attempt but thats not why im upset. It was more than just a game. Tonight was history for Africa and the whole world (apart from Uruguay) was behind them and they were robbed. Fine Uruguay won but what will happen to Suarez? A red card!? Is that it!? He should be banned from international football for life. Thats not sportsmanship. That was pathetic and the worst bit is he will become a national hero no doubt.
