NDSi and NDS games?

OK first DSi I have been asked to sort out but I won't get a chance to test and play as it is a birthday present.

Acekard2i has been ordered and hopefully on its way here and I have acquired as much DSi stuff as I can find but there doesn't seem that much that the kid will play so Does the DS stuff work on the DSi as well?

DS games work perfectly on the DSi mate.

Beware you might need to update the AK2i firmware depending on the verision of the DSi firmware. Might be worth at least checking the card OS/menu boots up.

If you do need to update, you will probably need to borrow an old DS to do the update on....depending on the installed firmware of the DSi.
Id be surprised if newly sold Acekards dont have the Dsi compatible firmware on them by now though.

how much more different are these to the R4 and TTDS? with those I just copped the system files to the memory card and then the roms.

The main files are done like that but the extra bit you might need is actually flashing the card with files (not microSD) I'll dig out the instructions tonight (unless someone beats me to it)

the acekard will need updating and after you do that, it will show up as Danny Phantom Urban Jungle. I didnt know this and was a bit confused at first. As Broona says DS roms work prefectly fine on the DSi, but games with specific DSi functions will not have those functions on the DSi when played vie a backup, they will behave as they would on the DS. None of the new DSi functions are hacked yet, this includes DSiware too.
