I have one mates PS3 which I performed the full gilksy method with no clean flux, bending the heatsink clips etc. I then tested it with the matrix trilogy blu-ray back to back, all worked fine. Gave it back to my mate who played fifa for 3 hours and it went YLOD again. So I did it all over again and heated it for longer, tested the same way again, gave back, broke again within 3 hours of fifa.

So he went and bought a new one, if there is a method for these odd tricky machines then I would like to hear it. Another mates I did months ago and he battles on COD a lot, still going strong. I have one here I bought and repaired but I am paranoid about selling it on in case it fails again. I have tested this one with even more blu-rays and it still works.

blu-rays don't put as much strain on the processor and gpu as games do, your better off finding a game that loops to a rendered demo (not fmv) if left on the start screen and leave that on for a few hours.
