Default Starview 6 and HD combo box up and running

If you didn't already know the new Starview boxes are worth checking out again now

surely its not all channels? some N3 channels are still "open" and you might be able to get them for a while but not long. All common sence says N3 is not cracked so I do not believe this

So a cable card share enabled box with settings hard coded inside?

Buy the box and the subs come free?

Valid point but I reckon you could maybe change the settings...

Prob just a normal SV6 but pre-config'd in some way.

Smart thing would be for them to be programmed with 10 server and account details and as one drops off, it defaults to the next.

The server end picks up on the extra clients and changes one for another, then either issues a box update file for users to put on USB and flash the box or if subs have expired let it die.

    Don't doubt it. ;-)

What gets me is what kind of nutter is card sharing VM services? Over what internet connection?

Cable card share seems dodgy as hell to me! Both for client and server ends.

It will most likely be the manufacturer of the receiver, as with some sat receivers

Im telling you now guys , kryptview is the way to go if you want decent support on this type of box
this is not a new thing if you do your homework no one in the know trusts shitview after they dropped support for the early boxes . All the fixes for the box came a guy called astra , not sv.
No one is telling how to retrieve the rsa from the new roms , that is why ther is no servers set up at the moment. this will change soon so if you have a old dreambox C then dont bin it yet.
dont buy sv there cunts .

Like I said the whole idea of cable CS seems dodgy to me. Also in theory if a DM500c can be given a second life, so can a DBox2. But using VM internet to send/receive keys is gonna be easy as hell for them to spot/stop/raid.

PPL are saying in that thread why not host servers abroad. Correct me if I'm wrong, don't you need to have a server in the UK to pickup the keys from VM's cable networks? How can you get a cable feed in China?!

Id rather pay for a sub, which is what I now do, CS is not worth the hassle.

Once the keys are extracted from the UK cant they just easily be transferred to a foreign server and then hosted (using encryption)? I presume a uk server wont be needed for the extraction part. I would have thought thats what Kryptview are doing, thats assuming the ecm key change time is not too frequent.
The danger will be for the client as they would be receiving keys on a VM line, so a safer bet would be to plug the box in to a BT line or 3G line

Yeah suppose keys can be extracted from a card, then vpn'd to an off shore server...

Thing is, if clients have to use non-VM dsl to get them, they are already paying additional expense possibly by having a BT line and adsl. Dunno if 3G would be reliable enough or not.

There's a lot to go wrong IMO, and it's whether its all worth it. They days of a nice plug and play cable box are long gone. A home LAN CS is the only real benefit of it all, but then an extra box is only a tenner....
