PS3 YLOD

My mate is bringing round his PS3 tonight. He said it has the YLOD and asked if i would look at it.

I have done a few 360 RROD in my time but i have never attempted a PS3. Can anyone recommend a guide to use that does not need any specialist tools? Do you need to buy any parts like when you do a 360?

Just a quick update, I done the fix last night and it all working!! I haven't played for a long period but it looks good at the moment!

Nice one mate. I have done a few which are still going strong now. Only one kept failing so the other day (out of curiosity more than anything else) I whacked it in the oven. Not had time to test it properly but it now turns on fine.

Just out of sheer interest how long and at what temp do you put it in the oven?

Do you have to put it on a roasting tray lol
