Default wii hangs using 222 mload and 233 , works on 249

Hi guys anyone seen this b4 . i can run most games from hdd using all the loaders ,
but i need to use ios 249 .
If i try any of the other options 222/223 mload ect
the will will say "loading then ................ ".
Then it just hangs and i have to pull the power to . reboot.

I tryed deleating the 222 ios and the 223 and reistalling still same symtoms.
    and no errs installing.

Any help would be apreciated. i have the nand and boot 2 so can restore and start again but id rather eat my own head than go through that mind numing process.

    thanks Plug

Info Re: wii hangs using 222 mload and 233 , works on 249

So what are you options for choosing a good format for your USB Loader?

There are 3 routes open to you after you softmod you Wii, with regards to a format for your USB Loader, FAT32, WBFS or MIXED
You must first decide what it is you want to do, just play games or have the ability to play games, watch movies and run homebrew.

    Choice 1 - WBFS Formatted Drive (cIOS249,222 &223)

In the begining this was the only option available for usb loaders and as such is still very popular today. It requires the whole drive to be formmated to WBFS by either third party software on your PC or the usb loader itself.
The drive itself can not be read by windows.
Games are stored as .iso files on the drive.
    You can't run Homebrew.
You can't play Xvid / Divx.

    Choice 2 - FAT32 Formatted Drive (cIOS 222,223) or (cIOSX19 aka 249)

A more versitile option is to chose FAT32, the drive can be read by windows and usb loaders alike.
Third party software will convert the files and transfer them to the drive.
You have the ability to drag and drop between drives.
Games are stored as .wbfs files on the drive.
    You can run Homebrew.
You can play xvid / divx movies (4GB Limit).
    FAT32 Formatter

    Choice 3 - WBFS Partition, FAT32 Partition (cIOS249,222 &223)

As the title suggest this is a mix of the two and as such offers the benefit's of both, but with the hassle of partitioning the drive.

USB Loader Releases - Comparison Table

    Some Game Managers
Games can come in several formats .iso, .ciso & .wbfs and these game managers can convert between them then transfer the games to your drive

    Wii Game Manager
Wii Backup Manager - Handles ciso
    WBFS Manager

I personally have a 500GB WD Elements Drive formatted to FAT32 using CFG USB Loader V56, using cIOS222 V5.1
I have 3 Folders, WBFS folder with all my games in, Movies with all the kids Divx in & Apps folder with all my homebrew.

    ------------------------------------

Below is a few of the Apps i have found useful for playing backups and watching movies on the Wii

It is HIGHLY Recommended you have some form of Brick Protection (Priiloader or BootMii as Boot2) Before you install any type of WAD.

CFG USB Loader & Wii Media Center

    Download Pack

    Contents:-
    CFG USB Loader V56 (FAT32 & WBFS)
    CFG USB Forwarder Channel
    NeoGamma Channel
    WiiMc V1.0.4
    WiiMc Channel Installer 1.1
    Hermes V5.1 cIOS Installer (202,222,223)
cIOS38 R17 Installer (249) <-- Not the latest but reliable
    WAD Manager V1.5

Unzip and copy to the root of your SD Card

    (1) If your cIOS249 is less than R17 then Run cIOS38 R17 Installer from HBC and select WAD install
    (2) Install Hermes cIOS Installer from HBC (for 202 choose ios57 Base, 222,223 Select defaults)
    (3) Install CFG USB Forwarder Channel & NeoGamma Channel using WAD Manager from the HBC
    (4) Run WiiMc Channel Installer from HBC
    (5) For FAT32 Drive rename cfg56-222.dol to boot.dol in apps/usbloader folder

    And away ya go...

If you arn't sure what cIOS's or versions you have installed just run
Syscheck 1.6.2 from HBC and post results

    Hope this helps Someone

    Plug1,

The only loader I really use is CFG USB and never had any issues with it, using a fat32 drive.
    I would suggest re-installing 222,223 - but you've done that.

What versions of 249,222 & 223 you using?
And are you using the latest versions of the loaders?
    And just one partition?
worse case could it be an issue with outdated firmware on the modchip?
