    Default Living with a Chromebook

When I examine my laptop useage, most of what I do is browser/cloud based. Editing photos, rearranging my music library, watching films etc.. is all done on my desktop. Therefore a Chromebook makes quite a bit of sense to me, more so than a similarly underpowered netbook. Does anyone else own one, and can you share your experiences.

This is the one I'm planning to get, it was just released last week for £229. Samsung's best Macbook Air knock-off to date

Being looking at these a lot, everything I do is cloud/iTunes based on the laptop with |chrome browers for internet.

Does it have HDMI out? As i do use that every now and again

Back in the market for a Chromebook (because I'm bored), I think they're a little easier to live with these days due to a lot of stuff being available offline e.g. media player, gmail etc.. And what is of particular interest is a chrome app that allows you to citrix into your work environment so it makes a very cheap, dumb terminal.

I read recently that a london council was replacing most of it's XP desktops with chromebooks and use them as thin clients. If i need to use a windows program i just use chrome remote or chrome RDP to log on my mac which i have running 24/7 and have running virtual machines. This may not be necessary in the future as google are supposedly teaming up with vmware to allow running of windows software.

Most of the time i use it when sat in front of the tv and find it much better than using a tablet. I stuck chrubuntu on it as i'm trying to learn the linux command line and python, but found that i could use an online IDE most of the time at nitrous.io

Plenty to choose from at the moment, even dell are selling them.. LG bringing out a desktop version soon
