What 2nd hand car

m8 of mine looking at an avensis 2003 with 44k on clock or peugeot 307 32k on clock both petrol both nearly 4grand i know its not a lot to go on but what would be your choice if both were decent motors thanks both of the cars are on page 1

The avensis engine will go forever, my mum has a 99 avensis and it still drives like new even on 180,000 miles, French cars in general are seen as unreliable, Toyota for me

if i were u i would go for the avensis d4d 2.0

i have the same engine in a corolla and we had it since new 2003
its done over 384,000 miles and engine only died 2 weeks ago becasue we forgot to change the timing belt

toyota's are generally bulet proof m8

Toyota have it in the reliability stakes but the 307 is much more comfortable and a nicer ride.

I think it is important to bear in mind that 'what' is generally used when you are asking for a opinion based on almost unlimited possibilities. However, if you a limiting the choices to a set number of options then 'which' is the way to go!

definitely go for the toyota, and as said above, a diesel will not only go on forever but be more economical and saleable. as for a 307 being more comfortable, i've been in both and that's clearly a lie

Well I have a 2006 307 and have just come back from penzance (400 mile trip) in a Avensis and my car is far more comfortable. I guess its down to personal preference and size of the person.

Plus neither of them are a diesel car so whatchu talkin bout willlis?

I'm not sure if he is looking for suggestions or it is a choice between those two specific cars but my Ford Focus MK2 55 plate is incredibly comfortable. I have the 2 litre TDCI 6 speed. Only downside is the consumption is about 40MPG rather than the rated 60MPG!
