It's marketing I'm sure. It seems peculiar that the pricing error is normally still a number that something sells at e.g. you don't get something mistakingly priced at £65536 or £999999999999999999 or -£1000. It's always a nice cheeky number that people think the company might not 'notice'. Come off it, the days of price mistakes are long gone, they're all written out of T&C's anyway.
