    Default Canon Ixus 100 IS £99.99 - Play.com

Been after a 'point and shoot' to put in my pocket for a while. These are vry very slim and from the ones I have had a go with rather good.

The intention is to have it in my pocket at all times and then go back to the scene of the crime with my DSLR if I find a good shot.

I know it's getting old this model now, but it's replacement is going to be £300+ !!

They are doing 4gb Samsung Class 6 SD cards too for £5.99 : http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...6/Product.html

Yeah, much slimmer than the Sony but lacks the Optical Zoom you tend to get on Sony's

To be honest I don't always use zoom that much so I am happy with 3.0x
Just bagged a mini HDMI cable off Ebay too. It's a bonus it does 720p HD Video. Not that I will use it much but it will come in handy.

Play are also doing a 16gb version of the SD card for £18. 4gb will be enough for now.

I actually just went on and bought another for the missus as her Powershot is very bulky (but very good).

Got £1.19 quidco cashback.. not much but better than chapped skin on your knob!

Ah yes. I used to have a T1 back in the day when they first came out. My problem with it was the colours where really washed out on it and it didn't 'feel' like a camera.

True and hence why I want one

After my 2 week Holiday I started to really get to know and love my 400d. Back home and it's only been out to extract the pictures! So a little point and click to get me back into the groove is what I need.

Expect lots of Photo Comp efforts from me know buhahahahahaha!

One of mine did too! No men cards yet but I have SD cards kicking about. My mini HDMI to HDMI cable did too.

Missing some features, like keeping shutter open so I'll keep the powershot we have to along with the 400D, but other than that it is ideal pocket size. Smaller than most mobile phones!

I have to take my last comment back. I have done some digging in the menus and found the shutter time, which can be set upto 15 seconds.

Plus lots of other features like a Photo Stitch assistant etc...

Very pleased with it! Still a bit noisy with the shutter at 15 seconds compared to my 400D, but software can fix that

I have found some mention on forums of Firmwares to allow more advanced settings, it impacts battery life but I might have a go at some point.

Remember these are end of life pretty much, there is much better out there.

But £100 each is a bargain! I'm sure someone will have them at that price again soon.

    *Edit*

Been testing the video etc.. tonight, as expected quite a bit of noise in low light. However it is smoooooth and very good quality. The noise can be taken care of easily bought with software so all good.

    It just gets better!
