I was with them 1 week and switched to BT, Couldnt handle the constant disconnections over and over, Of course the crap customer support will always blame you, Funny how BT hasnt had one disconnection! Only had a choice of 3 in my area [i have recently moved] And no SKY on the exchange

If you get any more problems The members forum is 10x better than phoning customer support, The OCE's work normal hours though monday to friday 9am - 6pm.
If your not already registered on there the registration can sometimes be a pain, But the talktalk facebook group sorted that out in a flash.
I've been with talk talk for 3 years and it's only recently that I've been having any real problems with them.
Watching the Ireland game via live stream last night my internet went down for about the 20th time this week; I wasn't impressed in the slightest. Called customer services and was told that the IP addy had renewed "you must have been idle" - I was watching a live stream ffs... how the hell is that IDLE?
and guess what? yep, the IP addy is supposed to change FIFTEEN times a day! He couldn't figure why mine only changed 5 times yesterday.. erm, maybe because I was USING it?
And they don't do static IP addy's!

Been with TalkTalk for about two years now, and connection wise I've no problem.
But my online services don't work, and they've been looking into it since Feb this year. As this prevents me from using email and my webspace I was going to try a threat to cancel to get them to hurry it up.

its taking over a month to get fone line and adsl connection,
rang them end of last month for new phone line and adsl got a letter today saying adsl will be connected on the 4th sept
they say my order was on the 5th of this month, funny cos they sent the bt bloke to enable the line (which they think isnt enabled) on the 3rd?
talktalk were saying that my phone line will be active from the 23rd then my adsl on the 4th of sept,
but which date they've missed is the 14th Aug (tomorrow) the day that talktalk will lose me as a customer,
im not waiting over a month for adsl.

a word of advice when dealing with TalkTalk cam, make note and if possible, record every conversation you have with them. They claim to record every call but they are incredibly reluctant to use them when its not in their favour.
My main beef with them was that I was told I was being sent a mac code so I could leave them for another ISP and that this would take upto 14 days (unknown to me this is complete BS) and in the time I waited for this non existent mac code to arrive, my "cooling off" period expired and they have no record of this call ever happening. how convenient.
I had to ring Sky who were going to take over the line to cancel that and although the call centre guys are all scottish and quite hard to understand, they were 100x more helpful, polite and understandable than the indian call centres TT use.

Got home to day and found ive been fucking disconnected! I rang TT and they said "oh its temporary while the account is moved from your mothers to your name" I said OK, can you tell me how long that will take (knowing that was utter bullshit) he said he had to transfer me to some other useless moron, put me on hold for tem minutes then the line hung up!
I rang back and had to explain everything again and this time they said that Sky had taken over the line and unless I rang them to get them to release the line I would have to pay the £150 odd fee. Rang Sky and they had no idea what i was chewing on, saying they recieved my cancellation a few weeks ago and that went through fine, and even if it hadnt it wouldnt have gone through today!
Rand TT back, got through to another complete fuckwit who then told me my account was in credit by £11, so i asked for as many details as possible so I could take notes. Then the nob sad ill put you through to the relevant dept, hold for 10 mins, spoke to an english guy who said I actually needed the dept I was at originally, BUT, they fucking CLOSED 10 minutes ago!

I cant use DC++ on my partners wifi connection on talktalk. Works fine on mine at home. but im on v1rgin at home

Must say i have been with them for about 5 years or more and only had problems when i signed up with line dropping, past 5 years have been no issues at all. When i moved house they were gonna charge me £60 to d/c old number and connect new number at new address, told them i would rather go to sky and they done it for £30.
Have read many bad comments about them but then again, who goes on forums to say they like there ISP?

Lots of people do, if you look at threads on any forum people ask which ISP recommend and ive seen endless people say BE and Sky are great and talktalk suck, well I read that and for the sake of not having to mess about finding I new isp when I left tiscali I ignored that advice, I agreed to stay with them when they moved over to TT. what a fucking mistake that was.
