Default my imac is in for repair :(

bought an imac just in and around xmas 2009. i love it and still do, but i noticed over the last few weeks like a static dust marks on the top left corner inside the glass.
so i booked it it to the genius bar for them to have a look at. the guy said he thinks he knows what it is and proceeded to ask me if i smoked? i said no, oh then replys, it just i have seen this from peoples imacs that are in a smokey dusty house. fuck that i said to him, i dont smoke and i see enough dust in my work to last me a life time!. he laughed and said okay we will replace the glass and lcd screen for u free of charge.. only down side is that its gonna take 10 days or so..
making me now think about taking out apple care now!!! just abit undecided

Be careful, I got mine on eBay and it's OK but some are not genuine. Beyond that. . . . . YES get Applecare!

Good to hear, I'm considering another Mac purchase soon... an i5 MacBook Pro 15".

They even have an option for an i7, but I can't justify the extra for the uses I'll have. Thinking of that power in a laptop still impresses me, considering my first laptop was a 486!

Back then I certainly wouldn't have thought a high end Intel CPU would be in an Apple portable!

Pretty good service from the genius bar. Nice to know you'll be getting a completely new glass & screen though

    Bugger on the ETA though.

For future reference, dust does collect on the inside of iMac screens, but theres no need to take it in.

I do this about every three months - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cHMHzq5E5I

    I have a PC. I don't have a warranty... Nor have I needed one.

I think an iMac will be my next purchase though. Everyone happy with them?

I'm sure it's £60 for the iPhone 4. I'll likely get it too.
