creating a free website

Im looking into a new business venture and i am going to need a website to help promote this,

I have read other posts and done a little research myself basically i am looking for a website (ideally e-commerse but not essential)

I have seen lots of free hosting and website set ups but there not strictly your own domain it is usually something like www.somecompany.com/mycompanyname when i am looking for something more like www.mycompanyname.com / .co.uk etc

who is the best company to deal with for this, I dont mind if it is a templated website to start off with as i would look to get a custom built one done in the future

also if anyone is a web designer or looking to have a go at designing one please let me know

Try this it's all free, my pal at business link said they are pushing it to help small businesses, he said there is a cap on how many domains they give away so it may be worth just signing up anyway just to get your free domain name.

dannoble you can buy the domain from anywhere really because whoever you host with you will just change the dns settings to the new host.
Personally I buy all my domains and hosting from 1and1. I know some people hate them but I think they're fine, been with them for about 4 years now, both with hosting and a server and have probably spoken to them 5 times throughout that time.
