you need to have a sub and a second box?? if the talkback is a h\w fix then why have a second box?? i think it dont matter its all about hiking the price up making things look more difficult than they may be?? also if cable hexes become as availible as seca hexs where,are. then it wont last long. there in enough trouble as it is, a public hack for sky would work wonders i think,to do with competition?. if sky get there way we will pay for everything we watch and i mean everthing. they have advertising revenue yet still charge the earth??

This is very good advice, anyone thinking of rushing into all this because there head is filled with the thought of getting 'free tv' would do well to reread this post. You could end up paying a lot of money for an as yet unsupported hack.

It would be far better to wait and get as much information as you can about how it works. Then you can judge for yourself how successful it is going to be long term, rather than shell out a lot of money for a temporary flash in the pan solution.

The 4000 can be done but the PPV will not work. Make sure you dont get any error ie error 12,error11.
The boxes you want are 1000,1010,1000 phase 1B,1010 phase 1B,2000,2010
As for 4001,4000-t no good at this moment in time
It dus not matter if the boxes have been online or not

I think you need your subbed box talking back as normal or they get curious as to why not, i unplugged mine for two weeks and got a call from them asking if i had a fault this was with telewest!
The second box will have a hardware hack imo, else why would this box not talk back it still on the feed spltter or not.
I may have lost the plot on the filter/ splitter thing but i dont see how this or the first box will stop the second box talking back.

i dont get any errors m8 and will my broadband stil work if this hack becomes avalible

There are obviously quite a few people who know of, and can do this hack. Perhaps once they have made enough out of it, they might start passing the info around to us lesser mortals!

It wouldn't benefit me in any case because I live in the telewest area, and dont even have digital cable, but it does sound interesting.

But as a couple of you have mentioned, I guess if it did get out to the general population, then it might go the way ITVD did. (There are always too many people after the money, but saying its just for use at their home!)

i hav soon ntl working, but im intrested has t**ewst boxes dons as thay are same models . and know pace set them diffrent for t**ewst system and aiffrent mapping but the basics are the same
so am intrested has anyone seen one done or know any one !!

Does anyone know how this hack is likely to work? I mean do you still need a basic subscription? is it all on a funcard or is there a box modification?
