Default Samsung PS50C680 50" 3D plasma with Samsung BDP and 3 pairs of glasses £929.99

    http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/pro...MSUNG-PS50C680

It's £999.99 but use code 7750 to get it for £929.99. There is also 3% Quidco which if all goes well would bring it down to £902.

Just reading about this now on AV Forums, oh god, I just read that Black Ops will be in 3D!!!! I had no idea. I think I might be buying one of these all based on a game! lol. More reading to do yet though.

It's already been posted on here. A few have already bought the telly on here and are really impressed with it I read Currys, Dixons and PC World will price match too, although not 100%. I also read today is the last day for the deal...

I considered getting shot of my Panny I bought last year for this but then I thought 3D is at such an early stage of development in home TVs I think it would be a good idea to let it mature a bit before taking the plunge. I may well be wrong though. This is a super price though seeing as I paid over £1300 for a 50'' plasma last November.

Got this set a couple of weeks ago and have just finished running it in, so calibrated last night and can honestly say this is my best TV purchase ever.

How To Train Your Dragon 3D was superb and the ability to turn 2D stuff into 3D is bonus. Not everything converts well but The Dark Knight was very good.

    Cheers

    Hi chaps

I've been leaving the TV on as much as possible over the last 2 weeks to clock up at least 200 hours and running a plasma break-in DVD, like the one found here.

I just left it running on repeat via my PS3 all day whilst at work and then all through the night.

Obviously it's a personal choice to do this, but being a plasma I'm not taking any chances and anything that will help prolong the life of my new purchase and reduce Image Retention (IR) I'm all in favour of

The settings I had it on for those 200 hours is as follows:

    Mode: Standard
    Cell Light: 10
    Contrast: 45
    Brightness: 45
    Sharpness: 50

Yes, the picture is not great with these settings, but it is only for the first few weeks so no biggy really.

There's no real point posting my 'proper' settings as everyones room is different, but the burn-in settings should be OK for everyone as it keeps Image Retention down to a minimum whilst the panel's new phosphor's are at their brightest.

Things to remember during the first 100/200 hours life of plasma's in general.

    • Keep viewing full screen - try to avoid bars at the sides (4:3) or and across the screen (2:35:1)

    • Try to avoid channels with bright channel 'logos' in the top corner as much as possible.

    • Try not to keep stuff paused for more than a few minutes.

Also, if you want to make the Blu-Ray player that came with this deal DVD multi-region then here is the sequence:

    1. Turn off and turn on player.

    2. Wait until it boots into home screen then press the following keys.. Repeat - 5 - 7 - 5 - 3 - 8

    3. Note that "2" appears briefly in top left of screen.

    4. Press "9" and note that it appears briefly in top left of screen.

    5. Turn off then turn on player, that's it.

I've played Wipeout 3D and Motostorm and found them simply stunning. Can't wait for Black Ops

    Cheers

    Al

altho the set is a really good price, if i could afford it i wood push towards panasonic.

we have 3d panasonic and samsung on display at my work, i just feel the panasonic is better for 3d from the demo's and content i have seen.

having saying that i like the bezel of the samsungs and the look of them more
    than the panasonic VT's.
bloody good deal though for a first 3d screen
