Can anyone tell me what the best way to play my xbox games online without xbox live?
Or is this not possible?

It's not possible. You could play a friend on another machine using a crossover cable...

XB Connect & GameSpy Tunnel are the main ones...
halo online is amazing - but these are strictly broadband only.
Ive been playing on xboxconnect.com for 2 weeks now.
A lot of people have had problems but I gotta say that I hooked up and played straight away. Just make sure you do exactly what it says on the tin!
There is also a very good help forum and if you get into the main chat room (halo) there are plenty of people willing to help.
If youve got the equipment then give it a go. As has been said halo is superb online.
You need broadband, but ive got standard 512 k/b sec and as long as you play with people in the 'right' regions and on same format ie pal and pal or ntsc and ntsc etc, its usually fine.
Ive hosted games and joined others games with up to 8/9 other players so far with very little lag.
