Seriously toying with one of these beanies for winter cycling.

Anyone any experience of it? There are a few available and range from 20 nicker up to about 40.

It was on Dragons Den in the form of protective cases for laptops etc IIRC. Looks brilliant as protective gear but how much does it weigh? Could see it being very useful as mountain biking kit, retains the flexibility of no protective gear but if your pedal goes into your shin it will harden.
