OK I'm trying to buy a cart but everyone keeps telling me to avoid fakes which I usually try to do but how do I tell between fake and real. Normally price? but some are places have 4 options with £1 difference between the prices.
totally confuddled

some fakes (i think the TT ones for example) can be crippled by loading the original firmware on to a fake card
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.
Just a reminder, in case someone posts something silly...
NO links, addresses or the like relating to these cartridges. Talk is fine, PM is fine, be sensible. If in doubt consult a mod or don't post.

I've got an AceKard on the way to replace an old fake TT - I'd always assumed they were supposed to be unreliable until I saw a video on Youtube showing 10 cards - the real ones never had a problem and the fakes were completely random!
From what I could find fakes are no way near as much of a problem nowadays as they were back in 2008?
I'll let you know if it's real as soon as it arrives - didn't realise they had fakes of those - oh dear!
if we are going to discuss things via pm, please dont make it so obvious what the PMs are about and NO mentioning of stores that sell them, even ones spelt wrong!
regarding fakes, 99% of the time they work as good as the originals, in the case of the old R4 cards, they were just cards with a similar name, not a clone as the majority of fakes usually are.
Stick to a reputable store and a reputable card (ie acekard, cyclo or dstwo) and you cant go wrong. expensive anyway.
