can i jailbreak an ipad on 4.2.1?

ok google tells me 4.2.1 JB is tethered only, is this still the case and if so is there a proper solution coming soon?

Just checked mine and it's all fine

Check you settings

General / Sounds make sure keyboard clicks is on

Sorry to jump in on this thread but getting my ipad couple of days time so when you say tether only - if i want it to be 4.2.1 with all the latest 4.2. stuff can I jailbreak but if read the above right if i switch it off then i will lose all on the ipad and have to JB again?

Also how does normal app buying work when ipad is JB? Can you JB and use apps but also buy too and sync ok and back up ok? Last question how does Itunes know what ones to update (purchased ones) and what ones are not (JB ones) or does it update them all once you have them?

Not sure about the first bit of your question but I can answer this bit.
You can buy legit apps as normal as well as sync and backup everything to itunes - and I mean everything

In terms of it knowing which are JB ones and which are purchased, it doesn't. You have to remove the metadata - go into Cydia and download metadataremovr from the Installous folder. Run everytime you get a third party app.

Does the Jailbreak need to be redone from a reset ? Or is it just a complete power off/drain then power on that needs it ?

Really? I wonder if that's an attempt to stop people using a USB stick with the connection kit.
