    Default n00b question.

Just a quick query really, I'm not actually in need of anything doing as such. Yet.

I'm not really familiar with this section of the board, so I am curious as to what goes on in here.

Am I to suggest that if my car, Alfa 156 needed it's mileage "corrected" I would post in here and someone would offer their services to do so? Does this usually cost money to do, is it car/manufacturer specific?

Who is the section mod here out of interest?

Just a bit of info ;-)

I've always wondered why people need their mileage corrected? Mileage is tracked via MOT's etc so its hard to hide the fact the mileage has changed. I can only guess that its handy if you have your dash replaced etc or a new engine.

New dash or engine would be ok but let's face it 95 percent of the time it's done to deciev peoples millige and if any one on here bought a car with 50 k onit and it's true millige was 150 k they would be truly pissed off

In many cars if you have a fault with your instrument cluster it's a replacement for the whole unit, often the mileage sticks with that and you'll need it corrected when you put in a replacement.

I've got a couple of clusters here - sports pack with iirc 115k and regular with 136k if they could be of interest. In fact if you feel like swapping from non sp to sp or vice versa I have all the interior trims. Let me know if you are interested and I can stick something up in bst.

Eidt: Actually thinking about it if you wanna swap from non sp to sp or other way you will need rev counter and I've only got v6 ones.

Don't get me wrong, I don't need anything doing. I was just curious of the process on here and whether money changes hands for services rendered.

I understand the legalities and moral implications of such modifications as do anyone who comes in here.

@ Carl, by all means let me know what bits you have, although I'm not really after swapping anything over unless it looks really nice, or makes the car go twice as fast. Like the spoiler I got... lol
