    Default Which Acer Revo?

I am only going to use this for XBMC Live. I want to be able to stream HD to the Revo from my server.

This is an old 3610. And is on offer today. Comes with Win7. Which I will be getting rid of. Comes with wireless mouse and keyboard. Only £180. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/225755

This is the 3700. Linux based. Nice Black colour. Ion2. Wired mouse and keyboard. £200. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/236579

I am leaning towards the nice, new and black Ion2 version. Believe it is DDR3 Ram too. But should I get the older one. I wanted wireless keyboard, but will probably never use it, as I will use a remote. The difference is only £20. But I wanted opinions.

    Cheers.

It depends if you will use the keyboard and mouse. Extra £20 for the 3700 makes it seem a barging. Not having the wireless keyboard will force you to sort out the remote. Also optical out is at the front on the 3700 (I think).

I have the 3610 and love it, runs XBMCfreak and is perfectly suitable.

Believe me you will use the keyboard and mouse, far more than you think, when setting up any new XBMC install and when sorting your media library.

ALso, although you are not going to use either of the os, on the Revo, Win 7 could come in useful elsewhere?

    I think that's a bogus price.

I bought my Revo with 4GB/500GB for £280 a while back from Ebuyer.
I cant see the 2GB/250GB being £299, I'm sure it was around £220 originally. So £180 only gives you £40 off.

Seems a bit off that the 2GB one used to be more expensive than the 4GB one.

Still a good price though. It is upgradeable without voiding the warranty.
My 4GB version with XBMCLive installed only recognises 2.5Gb as it's running on a 32Bit OS and runs like a dream. 2GB is all you really need.

Also the 3700 has a faster processor and ION2 and for the extra £20 is well worth it. Shame it's not a wireless Keyboard and Mouse. It is a definite must!

Get the 3700 and purchase the wirless keyboard/mouse as an extra? Which will make it about £50 more expensive than the 3610.

The Revo will probably sit behind the TV, maybe clipped to the back. As it's a bluetooth remote, shouldn't be a problem. Therefore the optical out on the front won't be an issue either.

I bought the 3700. Being delivered today. I'm on the lookout for a reasonable priced wireless KB and Mouse.

I paid £130 for my 3600 earlier this year. I then bought a wireless keyboard and mouse as I got pissed off with the wired one and I also upgraded the RAM for about £20
