Been trying to reserve a samsung 50" 3d tv package on line with both these companies today and both saying out of stock in south wales.
But as it happens im only a mile from the currys and comet so i nip down there for a look and low and behold i can take the package home with me as they have 20+ in stock at my local but not showing on there crap web sites.
Why have a reserve and collect if it dont work

I had the exact opposite a couple of weeks ago. Reserved stock on web site, got to store and none available. 2 on site - 1 the display one and 1 "locally reserved"

They asked if I wanted an alternative (more expensive of course)

The stock levels between Store and Online are linked or so they used to tell us (used to work Comet).
Never had any problems with Click & Collect usually sailed through smoothly. You sure you have the right product numbers?

Some TV's have minor variances and have different product numbers...

It would be pointless to make promises they cant keep to everyone. They'd lose too many customers. If they offer you the more expensive one, demand it for the same price (or a better deal).

Comet are struggling at the moment and are willing to arrange deals.
