Help Digital TV without outdoor aerial

    Hello there,

I have just moved into rented property which does not have an outdoor coaxial cable and I have small flat screen TV with digital freeview.

How can I watch digital TV without an outdoor aerial - would an indoor aeriel do the trick ?

If so what the best one to go for - to get the best signal strength.

    Thanks
    Scarface

Entirely dependent upon your situation, get an indoor and try.
    If at first you don't succeed.....redefine success. . . .

Thanks for all the replies. I will get an aerial and play about with it.

The link to the thread below has some good info on it too.

I bought an aerial with in built amplifer cost about £15 quid and had got good reviews but wouldnt even get 1-5 or freeview with it at my house but my son who lives ten mins down the road picks up em all up so i think it really depends on where you live and where you have the aerial etc

This is the one i got http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...CBYQ8wIwAzgK#p but i got it from asda.

Where? Did you foroet to click the button?

On a side note, I have sly so doesn't affect me, but I get a great signal on my built in freeview on my tv (LG 42LD450) until around 6pm, then I can't even get 1-5...then it comes back on again around 10-11pm.

I live near a power station so wonder if it might be that, but as has been said it deffo depends on where you live, what way ariel faces etc.

    Good luck with it

    Few tips before purchase...

Google how far your local transmitter away from you, if it's a distance the likely hood of receiving all the channels will be minimal.

Try to get as close to the window as you can.

Have a look at other aerials on the other properties, if they have large aerials it's pointing to it will be a no go.

and if you do get one and it doesn't work, unpack it carefully and keep the receipt

Yep like everyton sasy depends how ar ou are from transmitter.
I have an indoor aerial which ive attacked to the curtain rail next to my window.
Picks everythign up sometimes needs a bit of a wiggle to get certain channels.
Just a bog standard indoor one from another t.v works ok for me.
