I would post a link but gbatemp is keeping tight lipped on the subject.
Anyone got any news on this development?

DSi News
We have received reports that a tool has been published which can decrypt all data from "NUS, DSiWare, t System Menu, applications" and more. The key itself has not been released for legal concerns but the tool apparently does exist. When responding to the on-going discussion make sure you do not post the key itself, it is currently a legal-gray area, and we can not allow it to be published at GBATemp.net.
Thanks to ismaelWii for the news

I was visiting elotrolado.net when I saw a post that says that DSi Common Key is revealed.
From the post in www.elotrolado.net, by daTrollR:
QUOTE("daTrollR")
Well, the key with which all data from NUS, DSiWare, t System Menu, applications, etc ... are encrypted, is as follows:
http://ifile.it/qlig148/dsikey% 20generator.exe
I have chosen to publish it as a program rather than the key itself for legal reasons, similar to the Wii MakeKeyBin. Ienerates a file called dskey.bin that can be used to decrypt with the NUS Downloader DS executablesi. In http://dsibrew.org/ you have an extensive list of titles, but practically only carry CETK system needed to decrypt it. Once it is decripted,it can be opened with the DS Lazy or dsbuff , or any other that can open DS Roms.
By the way, the hacker who has discovered, has decided that he preferred that his nickname was not published. And I personally think it is also the best, so I opted to do the same and not reveal my real nick, so I created this account that is a clone
If you can't get it working, use NUSD 1.2b.

Note: I have nothing to do with it. I only tell you what I saw on another website.
Note from GBAtemp staff:
Tread carefully, here. We do not want the DSi common key posted on GBAtemp.
This is a major legal gray area, and a number of posts will probably be removed from this thread in the interest of keeping GBAtemp legal and open for business. We are likely to err on the side of caution, so if you have any question about the legality of what you're about to post, we suggest you PM a staff member about it beforehand.
Treat this key much like you would a new game:
No direct links.
Hints will be acceptable until they're too blatant.

rumours of this have been floating about since one of the flash card companies announced a new card that could run DSi stuff and there has also been an influx of DSi enhanced roms. The number of games that use it is pretty light though, but if we could install DSi ware, I'd be a happy chappy.
Well lets hope they use a similar security on the new 3ds
Region locked and 200 quid..... ouch. I wonder how much the games are going to cost?
The dsi stuff uses a different type of security.
Using a Cyber Gadget CodeFreak game capture utility, one YouTube user has found the 3DS will run backed-up games and even homebrew applications. In the videos past the break, you can see it using the Game & Watch Collection to launch unsigned code, including a copied version of Mario Kart DS and the Lameboy emulator. Additionally, it would seem the R4 cart also yielded results on the 3DS. Another YouTube user has discovered that right now the 3DS will played backed-up games from an R4, since it recognizes it as a DS cartridge. Of course, Nintendo could kill compatibility at any time through a system update.
