Default Dashboard Car Camera GPS and G-shock sensor

    Hi all

not sure if this should be in here or the gps section but here goes

    after seeing this
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olCoeNE501w

i thought what a good idea an in car camera would be so i have had a look round and i am struggling to find any good ones here in the uk.
there a several ones that look good in the usa like these:

    http://kcicommunications.com/mobile/sbx3100.html
    http://www.spytechs.com/Car-Cameras/dual-view-cam.htm
    http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/car-security-surveillance-system.html
    http://www.securitycamerasandmore.com/2-camera-car-recorder-gps-logger.aspx

they come with gps logging, shock sensors and various software ect but are not available here

The only one i can find here is this one http://www.roadhawk.co.uk/

has anyone got one or could recomend where to get a good one?
    are they any good?

and most important will they be any use in court if you had to go?

    what do you think

    Cheers

    Andy

I know what you mean but that is one of the points of having something like this, it records not only the video but also the satnav data so you can show what speed you were really doing instead of the fake speed that plod try and do you for.
and yes i have had that problem before with plod trying to say i was doing 104mph when i was really doing about 80 - 85mph if i had something like this it would have saved me a fortune and 6 points

if you have an android phone, you could try https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dailyroads.v
Save video files with important road events. Upload your journeys!Acting as a car blackbox, dash cam or auto DVR, it continuously records videos and captures photos during your journeys.
Automatically records everything, but only keeps the important events! Easy and quick to decide what to keep, even while you drive.
Speed, elevation and GPS coordinates can also be shown on the videos within the app.

that's just reminded me actually, what is more reliable.. satnav/gps or the car's own speedo..?

i was on a dual carriageway the other day heading out of the way so had tomtom running on my hd2.. i noticed that when the tomtom was regestering 70mph, my speedo was registering 80mph.. which one will be right? [completely unmodified car]

Tomtom would be closest to the actual speed - car speedo's can read high by up to 10% by law (but they are never allowed to read low by any amount). Most cars tend to read high by around 3-5% in my experience
