I hate them.

I usually don't get the door, but made the mistake today as I was waiting for someone else. Then had to explain myself to a very friendly dude about why I don't want to change energy providers....and now I feel like an asshole.

At least with the street clipboard people you can cross the street - you're a bit knackered on your own doorstep

If I open by mistake, I just tell them it's a rented house and they can't get away quick enough. The only time they get a slam is if they come while we're having tea or after 6 o'clock. As far as I'm concerned that's my time & out of hours for canvassers.

I always use the line just changed provider and tied in for a number of months.
When the wife gets caught she always tells them she leaves that sort of stuff to her husband.

I have a sign on the door stating No Cold Calling but the shi*s still knock on the bloody door.........so I ask can you not read which gives them a good indication of how receptive I am!

Just tell them No!.
If they then keep on tell them they are on camera and it is a criminal offence with a maximum of 2 years imprisonment to not leave your premises.

I often tell them I enjoy wasting money. That pretty much kills most of their lines.
