No, you can just power the drive with the xbox itself. Hook up the sata cable, generate your firmware based on the bin files you have, erase the drive then write the new LT+ firmware.
If you are not 100% certain that the files you have found belong to that drive, then you need to borrow another liteon drive and flash that first and test it in your xbox....if it plays games then your key is confirmed and you can flash your drive and restore the spare liteon drive to what it was.
If you are sure the files belong to this machine then just do it.

I would always advise against trying to patch disks....OK, you may currently have a machine you arent bothered about, but you never know, it might break next week, giving you the chance to get a newer unbanned one that you might want to let LT+ do its thing and play safe online with, and then all your patched disks then become useless to you....also you can never lend them out to anyone or you would get them banned. I know it works for some people, but for what it takes to update a drive, I couldnt be bothered with messing about with every single game you get.

    Hi guys

Little lost at what to do next

I connected the drive to the sata cable and my VIA port run jungleflasher and followed the guide.

But think i'm lost when i connected the drive it came up lite-on and the vendor, name and fw version looked like that on JF. But said no drive key.

I have the original drive key and a dummy.bin file. Just not sure what is the next step?

Anyone help would appricate it very much, also i dont have the ck3 kit so how would you power the drive half cycle etc

    Thanks

Edit- Just seen this video is this the correct way to do it?
