Well I just want to restore it back to it's original state. Got win 7 on it and it's slow, I am thinking get it back to normal then lob some memory in it and it should be fine then.

I downloaded 10 .rar files from the link in another post. Saved them to a new folder on my desktop, selected all and burnt them to a disk. Put the disk in the lappy and ran setup.ex, got an error message saying there wasn't enough room for some files... So started to delete a few things and next thing I know hard drive is deleted. I try F12 and get it to boot from disk but I then get the bootmgr is missing error.

Now I am thinking I need an ISO or an OEM disk so it would boot up from that? (sorry for being a pain but I havn't a clue!)

you need to unrar them first m8 then burn the result to a disk

use winrar to unrar (unzip) them and it will probably give you an iso file, use that in image burn or even nero to create the bootable dvd dont just copy the iso on to the dvd

If you think it's running slow now with Windows 7. Believe me, Vista will be a whole lot worse.
Your probably better off throwing some cash into it and upgrading the RAM I reckon...!
Advent, being PC Worlds () home brand, in all their wisdom, probably sold it with either 512Mb or 1Gb RAM. Which should have been enough. But wasnt. Hence why Microsoft released Windows 7 as Vista's replacement.

Cleaning up Windows 7 would be better. Tried Malwarebytes clean up operation? You might have a whole ton of crap lurking in the background slowing the computer down.
