Acer one d255

hi all , got a prob with an acer one d255 intel chipset , the laptop works fine all but for a bios p/w , ive read up that if the bios is reflashed its bye bye to the password , also its got the aa1 bios utility built in but im unable to find the correct bios to reload or instructions ... any help as always is appreciated big3

Flashing a BIOS doesn't normally remove a BIOS password... Little strange you've heard different for that chipset but each manufacturer is different.

Usually they are removed by opening up your laptop and then switching a jumper to a 'clear cmos' position for a few seconds and then setting it back.

You can also send it back to Acer if you have the reciept and they will reset it for you... Might be a charge though.

Thnx for the reply's , dejavu thanks for the p.m , the service manual was most help with me shorting the bios batt while powering on got rid of the bios password even though reading on the net said that this woulnd get rid of it , but the manual said it could and now confirmed it does work for bios password removal on the h20 insyde bios on a acer aspire 1 255, now i can enter the bios the hdd p/w isnt to much of a prob as now i can change the hdd , dunno if this is worth a sticky , it's annoying knowing i got a 250g hangin around doin squat cus of the password ... maybe another day ... big thanks, big appreciation to dejavu you d'man big3
