    Question Borked a jtagable

K heres my problem. I repaired a rrod falcon and it is jtagable, connected my nand x and got two good dumps. I then proceeded to connect the jtag wires but in my haste i didnt connect a diode to the rol board, just a wire ( i use the contact on the underside of the mobo ) I did connect a diode to d1f1. tried to flash xell and now i get an "could not detect a flash controller" i know my nandx is fine. so my question is have i fcked up this one? ive tried using an external power source to read the nand ,but nothing has worked so far. Any ideas?

Forgot to say it boots fine into the standard dash.

nah not that m8, before i conected the jtag wires ( less one diode ) i did quite a few dumps, so i know the wiring is fine. I wonder if there is some sort of 'fuse' that has blown . The nand is working fine, just can no longer detect it...

Ive got another non repaiable xbox here, im wondering if i can lift the nand chip, use a donor mobo to flash it and refit it...so far i have removed a nand chip from a donor mobo to test my skills lol. so far its gone ok. Taking a closer look at the nand not all legs r connected r they? some r soldered to pads but go nowhere, is this correct??

i sure the nand holds the cpu key etc so in order for u to put it in another board u would also need that boards cpu key etc(might be incorrect but i remember reading it like that or similar)i done a few jtags and every time i had an issue it was always a bad solder point even after i ruled them out ,i found the quickest solution was to just redo the solder joints one at a time and sure enough it solved the issue....

also try pulling the power cord out for couple mins to clear the ram this sometimes causes problems too

    good luck m8
