Jtaged machine without a dvdrom?

Have to admit, I know nowt about jtagging (yet) as I updated my 360 before it was too late but I've revived an oldish machine (with HDMI) but the dvdrom drive is knackered.
If i was to jtag it, would I have any probs? Presume I can rip games to a HDD using a PC so I would never need the DVDrom..right?

yeah use easy freeboot to make your nand image and theres an option for no dvd drive - this needs to be done for it to boot. I think it stops the power light from flashing aswell

and yeah when your setup you can just ftp the stuff over and run from hdd

What rael said really, think the no dvd option is to prevent it keep booting xell as it sees the drive as open when not connected.
If the light does keep blinking use a jumper off an old hard drive across here (see pic).
