Whine iPad smells of smoke - tips to remove?

    Hi guys,

Just picked up an iPad from a smoker and the unit/case stink!

Any tips for trying to remove/reduce the odour?

    Cheers.

Get some decent cleaning wipes to remove any surface grime, Big Wipes are brilliant industrial cleaning wipes which could remove smoke stains, nicotine and tar. Other than that perhaps an odour neutraliser like febreeze? Or leave it in a box with an air freshener to cover the smell.

Just ideas mate, not tried and tested

It's not the odour you should worry about to much. After time it'll fade away. Just make sure that it's cleaned throughly. Cigerette smoke sticks to surfaces.

Make sure you clean it with a good cleaner then I would put it in a confined space with a scented oil burner for a few hours then a well ventilated room. I had to do the same for a Laptop I bought my daughter off eBay. The smell will return as it's so potent, but not so bad, but give it a month or so and it should go away.

Other than that, there is not much you can do.
Vinegar is supposed to help, but I dunno how you'll use that on a iPad.

Apparently, the vapour from Vinegar in a confined space can also help. Obviously it'll smell of vinegar for a while though.

    Cheers guys.

Upon Further investigation the unit itself is actually ok - gave it a clean up and used it away from the case and it's all good.

I'll pick up a new case for it to solve that one.

I remember when I used to do painting and decorating using sugar water on surfaces that had nicotine residue or smell on them, old pubs for example and that always done the trick, try that.
