DS Lite Replacecment Case/Repair

My son drop his DS Lite and the case has broken (one of the hinges/buttons). The DS itself works fine (both screens are fine) so I'm guessing a replacement case could sort it out.

Has anyone ever replaced one and are they easy-ish to do?

Tips/advice more than welcome...

I've done a few, it's not that hard but its fiddly so if you are impatient and have sausage fingers, it may not be for you.

The replacement cases are pretty good and cheap, available on ebay for places like deal extreme if you dont mind a wait, they do tend to vary a little though, so read reviews first.

Iv done about a hundred of them .what colour is it , and is the top of the bottom case you need

they are sooo easy even the EX-Wife took the kids apart and put on new cases after the broke the hinges

The only trick bit is getting the top ribbon through the hinge , letter models come with a slot on it
Which makes it easier , and getting finger prints on screens , I use a pair of White gloves.

sorry to jump in but has anyone done a DSI XL as i have one with the bottom screen that has 2 scratches or more like cut marks in it.
It dosent affect anything and the case is perfect but for reselling at a later date i want to change the screen thats scratched.

Can i just buy the plastic that covers the bottom screen without having to buy the entire case just for the cover, as the touch screen is under the shell and not the part thats needed?

Assuming the XL is the same as the DS lite, there isn't a cover as such on the screen, you would need to replace the touch screen itself, which isn't a big deal, just be careful of the quality of the screen, some of the third party ones for the lite are a bit crap.

Yeah took it to bits on Saturday and its all in one
So i would need the touch screen had a quick look on ebay but the only ones i saw were around £50ish del not sure its worth that tbh as irs works fine as is, more cosmetic if im honest

i googled and theres some for a 6 quid, its only a sheet of clear plastic with a 4pin connector coming off the top.

google DSi XL touch screen, should find it.

Look on YouTube for how to replace it, its not hard really, just knowing what to do.

When i searched it found the complete bottom screen hence the price lol

ill get one ordered and do it when i can be arsed, is there any decent quality ones on those listings ??

its pretty much pot luck i think, I've had a few (DS Lite) that has a sort of matt finish and felt a bit weird to use, but they seem to work ok.
