    Question Graphics card for gaming?

    Hi guys,

I have the ATI Radeon HD 3300 as onboard graphics, I'm getting back into gaming on the computer.

    PC spec: http://valid.********.com/show_oc.php?id=1718422

I need the card to handle dual screen setup as I'm also purchasing two new monitors, hopefully there is a fast refresh rate H-IPS screen available.

    Budget £300

    Thanks for looking

    Regards,
    Jon

For 300 you could get the NEW range of NVIDIA cards not the old one listed above.

there is the 560 (which i have and runs crysis 2 @ ultra around 50fps)
but then you have the 570 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...914&subid=1010

i would personally got for either of them 2

well i have gtx 580 and cant fault it but for price/performance go for the 570 its like £100+ less and only a drop in performance between 5-10%.
Even if i am a Nvidia fan myself the AMD/ATI 6970 is very good card for the price, in between the 570 and 580 for performance.

ATI/AMD cards are good for price/performance if i was going to get a ATI card i would either get a 6950 or the 6970 they are the top of the range ATI cards at this moment and come in at about £220+ for the 6950.
(which can be unlocked the the speeds of the 6970.)
The 6970 costs about £270+ and is the top of the range Single GPU ati card on the market as of this moment.
This website allows you to compare two cards next to each other E.g. ATI 6970 vs GTX 570. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/292?vs=306
    Hope this helps.

What PSU do you currently have, as this can limit which GPU you buy, top end GPU's need huge amounts of power?

Very true. Nvidia cards suck more power than ATI cards. For a top end card you need at least a 750w PSU.

I'd go for a GTX480, best card you can buy for £200 unless you go second hand, use the code giga480 to get 10% discount - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...odid=GX-078-GI

If your getting back into gaming then the GTX 480 is good but gets very hot and is very power hungry (I had a GTX 470 and got to over 90 degrees) I would go for the new generation of GTX cards better performance, less heat and around the same power usage.

Another vote for the 560ti (Gigabyte model). Very nice card and very quiet when running full wack.
