So far the 3D screen is impressing, as long as you hold it at the right angle. Which is fine for some games but for the likes of streetfighter I find myself moving the ds a lot more as I do the moves and it really messes up the display then.

The display itself is really nice and crisp though, but I can see me playing in 2D 90% of the time as just after 20 mins of play you don’t half get some eyestrain.

Ridge Racer, decent game, graphics a bit poo, expected better tbh, but the gameplay is the same ridge racer magic I love

Ghost Recon, strategy game, nice 3D effect, need to invest more time on it.

Pilotwings Resort – Nice looking, but pretty pointless mini games, fly around an island endlessly basically. Looks great, but gives the worst eye-strain so far as you try to focus on the plan as well as distant objects at same time.

Street Fighter – Great looking, with touchscreen for combo’s and hadookens, which you can do using the normal way as well of course.

You've just turned me off picking one up tomorrow now, usually wouldn't take much notice of forum bashing but I've come to agree with your opinion on most things over the years so...

Think i'll sit back and let the dust settle.

I think its great, I can actually see the 3D, which is surprising as I usually cant see anything with other 3D methods.
The included software is cool, although sort lived gameplay wise, they mainly just show you whats possible. Face raiders is fun, especially with a few friends so you can use their faces in the game too.
I liked the AR games too, nice execut1on of the idea and hopefully one that will be expanded upon in future games.
Until I tried it today, I admit i was just expecting a DS with a 3D screen, but streetpass, augmented reality, the 3D screen and motion sensing gyro all work together brilliantly to give you a new experience.

The only thing thats disappointed me is the way it plays older DS games. Since the screens are a slightly higher res, the older games are upscaled and the picture looks rather soft and the colours also look a little washed out, but, until my Acekard is updated to work on it (which is due any second apparently) this wont be a feature I'll be using.

mine arrived mid-day today from play.com. i am away at work so i havent seen it, but my 7 yr old daughter, who its for, says the 3d is good on it (playing rayman 3d). she spent ages putting the password in to get it on the wifi at home, only to get a message saying no browser available yet, its gonna come in a later update apparently...

How do you get the other AR cards to work mate? I can only get the [?] card working, it doesnt' detect the other 5 at all?

just chuck em in front of the camera, the other uns dont do much other than show little 3D models of the characters on the cards though. Worked fine on mine though, even if I put 4 cards down at once.

Another thing as well, the position of the stylus is awful, why did they have to move it from the side where you could grab it without fumbling around the back!

Pilot wings is growing on me now.

I am really fighting myself on this. If Zelda was a launch title, I wouldnt have thought twice, but there seems like no real beefy games out yet.

    Mybe I am wrong though?

I wouldn't call any of the launch-titles must-have's tbh. Wait for Zelda and Mario kart, then they'll shift bucketloads of these things.

Did anybody pickup Lego Star Wars or Splinter Cell 3DS? Wondering if they're any good and worth a go?
