    Default Cheapish Family getaway August

Looking for a cheapish family getaway - must be dog friendly - groan - I have 14 days off from 15th August and its for 4 adults, 1 child and a dog. Ideally a UK break and caravan or holiday let is good option....

Anyone got have a caravan or know of good uk place?

    Thanks

    Mate,

    http://www.thornwickbay.co.uk/

I have been going to this place on and off for the past 25 years. We went with another couple last year and our kids. Its a great cheap family getaway. Its on the East coast of Yorkshire, there are two beaches, two adventure playgrounds, 3 bars, cafe, chipshop, family entertainment room... etc.. you can hire statics from the site. 6 - 12 birth...

Thornwick bay is great, from being 6-13 every school holiday I used to go with my cousin.
on a night his mum and dad held the bar up at the Dog and Gun in Flamborough village.

they have/had an arcade which at the time remember hammering them with 10p's playing scramble gorf and asteriods. bottle of coke and a packet of crisps we was made up lol.

Norwich is a cheap and very nice city, Doesn't feel like it at all when you're there. Plus you can venture out for things like boat rides on the broads, beach days etc.

My only recommendation is not to go anywhere recommended by someone who frequents DF

With that in mind, if any of your parthy are CSMA members, this place is really nice and a good base for trips out and about.

You don't have to be a member, it's just cheaper if you are.

Just came back from a weekend here.

    http://www.haven.com/parks/somerset/...sea/index.aspx

No good for the OP as it doesnt allow pets.

However, I would highly recommend this park...Ive been going there for a few years, but recently they have really invested in the site and the levels of customer service.

The caravans are all of a high standard even the basic ones and the standard of cleanliness was excellent as are the landscapes and the lake area.

They have spent a lot of money on the facilities (bars/ restaurant/ play-areas etc) and the staff couldnt do enough for us.

The entertainment whilst your usual holiday camp standard was fine.

    Recommended.

Nibb, was that with the Sun? ooks a nice Park and good area. Might try that one next time.

We've just come back from a weekend in Hastings with the Sun, cracking value. Anyone thinking of going to Hastings, go to Drusilla's and the sea life centre in Hastings.

    Yes m8 with The Sun.

    We had a decent 8 berth caravan...4 adults 4 kids for £200 Mon-Fri.

That included electricity and entertainment passes.
