IPhone 3GS Unlocking

I recently sold an iPhone on ebay and mistakenly thought it was unlocked. I had un-locked it from 02 but when Apple replaced it as faulty they gave me another locked one. As you can imagine the person that bought it is not happy, does anyone know how I can unlock the phone without jailbraking it.

Speak to O2 mate, official network unlock is currently the only method which doesn't involve jailbreaking.

You can get it unlocked direct from their website mate. You just need the imei number and it will be unlocked within 24 hours. There is a thread on here somewhere about it from a ways back !

Tried that with my 3GS on O2 i get the reply ' We are unable to unlock your iPhone' no explanation why.

if your willing to jailbreak you can do it by shoving the ipad baseband on it to unlock but its really a last resort.

My 3GS was 4 days old when I applied for an unlock. They turned me down. I also applied twice more, and they unlocked me on the third attempt. It's worth reapplying...
