    Selling Netgear ReadyNAS Duo 2TB

    Hi all,

Having just upgraded to a 4-drive NAS, my trusty Netgear ReadyNAS Duo is up for grabs.

It's a superb device, has 2 drive bays and it's really quiet (once it's got past boot when fans run at full speed). I've had it about 8 months, running 24/7 with not a single issue. It's been running SabNZBD as well constantly pulling bookmarks from nzbmatrix for me and i've been streaming from it to my AppleTV with xbmc with no issues whatsoever.

Originally it came with 1x2TB drive but I've taken that out for my new nas so I've put 2x1TB drives in there to sell it (WDC WD10EACS-00ZJB0 and HDT721010SLA360 ). I've just updated it to latest firmware as well to be sure.

It's in mint condition, as literally it hasn't moved since I got it, comes fully boxed with manuals, psu etc. And it's a tiny thing too.

Looking for £120 delivered (prices at eBuyer, amazon are 129 for the no-drive version).

    Quick specs

OK mate, I'll have to work on some figures but interested. Obviously I understand if someone else comes along and offers a suitable price I lose out.

Thanks for the offer, but too low, I think it's fairly priced as-is, and if it doesn't sell at that price, i'll just put it to use as something to backup my data to in another room.

Still interested in this mate.. Do you know if both drives spin down under power management settings? Just wondering as I'd like to have it on 24/7 and that feature would be useful. Been doing some reading and it seems some people have had some problems with this powering down both drives.

Ooh I don't know tbh, I just left it on 24/7 tbh, just done a quick google and looks like it does have some power management tools that mention disk spin-down

    http://www.readynas.com/?p=177

    Low power consumption

It’s nice to see a lot of companies start thinking about making their products green. It’s now the “in” thing to do. Well, the ReadyNAS product line has always been green even before there was a push by regulations and consumer demand.
The ReadyNAS Duo takes it a step further. For instance, in an idle state, the Duo consumes 27W of power, less than half of your typical incandescent light bulb. It’ll take a few more watts when there is disk activity. In disk spin-down mode, the Duo consumes only 12W.
Furthermore, if you use the automatic power-on scheduler, you’ll save even more. For instance, if you plan on accessing the ReadyNAS only during an 8-hour window each day, your average usage of the box can be as low as a third of the 12W, or around 4W. All without compromising on performance
