Did you get this yet mate? Ive just started it and I've managed to get some pars so I should be able to repair the knackered rar.

I started it but I got a PM from Waka who very kindly offered to give me his fully working mame collection if I sent him a HDD. I had a spare one so posted it up last week and Waka posted back yesterday. I stopped it in the end when I wanted to download some tv shows.

Im still interest to here how you get on, I still want Hyperspin working. I'll try the xbmc front end as well.

It's a slow trek for me at the mo, PC keeps rebooting for some reason but only seems to do it at night so every time I get up expecting a nice increase in my hyperspin rar collection, theres hardly owt....

Ah I see what you guys mean about hyperspin. I originally thought it was an old arcade game lol.

It takes me ages to keep mame up to date when the release a new version nearly every month, I'd never have time to get all the other stuff if you use hyperspin as a front-end.

I've just swapped my cab over from hyperspin over to mala. I've got to say, yes, I loose all the fancy bells and whistles of hyperspin, but mala's noticeably quicker and so much easier to navigate for me.

So now got my cab running about 10 emulators, all configured perfectly and run through mala front-end.

I did get some pars, but it turned out they had been made from an already knackered set, i thought this would mean that I would just be stuck with the 1 rar that was knackered according to my news reader, but it looks like all the rars were fucked already so the pars just fixed the rars to a slightly less fucked state. The original 100gig upload seems to have been upped without pars, which seems odd, unless they have some other filename.

I'm happy to set up an FTP on my Revo if you want to grab the Mame that Waka sent me? I'm only on the 10MB Virgin package so my upload is slow as fuck so it'll take an age for you to download from me. My PC is on 24/7 though. You'd need to use a download manager of some sort i guess incase the Revo gets turned off. It's massive as well at 250GB!

Is there an easy way to share it out to people?

i can get the mame roms, dont worry about it mate, I think the 100gig is purely hyperspin front end, I had a rummage though the wreckage and it looks like it has a 4meg move and a 1 meg movie for each rom, god knows how long they spent compiling those.

I've been out of the game (this one and all others) for a few years, but as Waka linked on the first page http://www.pleasuredome.org.uk/ allways was the place to go for any and all MAME (and ALL emu) knowledge and also to update your romset to the latest version. (If you're into all that)

They take theit snit seriously over there, but once they reallise you're not trying to do a hit and run on a romset and you're not a d1ck, there are some great helpfull guys over there- helped me and some friends out with loads of different emu related stuff.
