So what is the supposed size of these new discs?

approx 1 GB above what they are now, so i think its just over 7+ GB they are hoping to take it too

The disc image will always have a fixed size of about 6.8GB net and as such are limited to this maximum limit.
The format offers something XGD3 about 1GB more memory (also net) and reached thus roughly 7.8GB.

Yeah i second that... i read 7.8GB elsewhere too .... does that include the Video partition tho
e.g will it still fit on a standard DVD DL (8.5GB) disc ????

they are losing the video partition

if developers choose to use the full disc in the future then no amount of firmware trickery can get round that lol

right.... so if they fill the factory pressed DVD9 to the max then its game over..... until VERB starts selling DVD DL's at 9.x GB lol

remember a long time ago when PC games were on CD's and they stopped pirates by overburning CD's to 800mb.. wasnt long till u could do that at home. maybe same sort of thing here..
