Wii price cut coming

Nintendo may be about to slash the price of the Wii by as much as 25 per cent.
In the US, it's claimed, the console's price will come down from $200 to $150 on 15 May, according to "a trusted source", cited by Engadget.
The Wii's share of the console market, while still impressive, slumped last year from 22.5m in 2009 to 17m. EA recently dubbed the machine a "legacy platform", and World+Dog is expecting Nintendo to unveil the Wii 2 any time soon, possibly at June's E3 games industry show.
A price cut would certainly go some way to reviving sales and at very least maintaining them while more serious Wii-heads wait for the new machine. �

�99 today at gamestation, sold out now though.

Personally I wouldnt pay �50 for one now. They have well had there day

A smart move would be a HD version that up-scales existing games maybe with some sort of Kinect technology

Nonsense! My Wii still gets played regularly, and I would argue has some of the best games of this generation. Plus, there's the new Zelda to look forward to.

thoroughly bored of wii, they'd sell a boatload of them at �99 rrp though, I'd probably even get one for myself at that as haven't played mario galaxy 2 yet (mario galaxy and kart were the only games I properly enjoyed on wii)

Galaxy 2 is miles apart from the original, an absolutely stunning experience.

There's loads of recent titles you've probably missed out on too, if you haven't owned one for a while (Metroid Other: M, The Demon Blade, DKC Returns, No More Heroes 2...)

tbh i know how it would go, i'd buy it, play on it for a week and then it wouldn't get touched very often, but �99 is neither here nor there. Maybe i'll look out for a second hand cheapie to play smg2 on.
